Are You Waiting for Closure?

Are you waiting for closure? Hang in there because it may never happen the way you think.
Closure is the lack of respect or way they treated you over the years.
Closure is their absence of care or consideration for you and your feelings, thoughts or concerns. The conversations were meeting the needs and wants of one side. You hoping to be heard was shut down.
Closure is the deficit of accountability. When they say it’s 100% their fault but you…..That’s not being accountable. Even if they are saying they are being true to who they are now and it’s outside the integrity system you built together, that’s closure.
Closure is their shortage of honesty. Relationships can’t thrive and rarely survive without a foundation of trust.
Closure is that they chose the other person. The chance of affair partners staying in a relationship is 3-5%. I have heard it said that a reason they stay is they sunk their ships together and are stuck. Good news is you get to choose now and it doesn’t matter what they picked anymore.
Closure is the lack of an apology. A real one is not just words but someone doing everything in their power to make it right.
Closure is that they have been deceptively making choices without your knowledge way before you came to know the truth.
Closure is knowing they took advantage of the good qualities you are to enable their toxic behaviors that ended your relationship. It’s not because you weren’t enough. It’s because they didn’t have the capacity to consider anyone but themselves.
Closure is that it’s no longer your responsibility to shield them from the consequences of their choices.
Closure is accepting that you chose to walk away.
You are not unforgiving, un-Christlike, bitter, selfish, unreasonable or a bad co-parent just because they are no longer your person anymore. They made many dishonest choices that were destructive emotionally, physically, spiritually, sexually, financially and existentially to those they had promised to love and protect.
The peace you can have choosing in your life is the best feeling ever. And that’s real closure!
