Early April fools Day!
“April Fools Day is canceled because no made up prank can compare to the unbelievable crap that’s happening in the real world right now.”
I only share this about April Fools Day because this made me actually laugh out loud when I was feeling super overwhelmed by the responsibilities I feel as a single mom and the uncertainty on planning and being prepared enough. How refreshing it is to laugh.
I recall the times after the discovery when laughing and smiles were few and far between. We almost had to create moments to feel normal and laugh. Going through the trauma has helped be more thankful than ever before for joy, happiness, hope, optimism and gratitude because feeling the opposite was so dark. I love my home and the safety it provides for my children and me. I know and recognize this more than ever before because now it is our fortress of peace and security.
We have all had moments in our lives when something so big happened it made us stop everything and take a closer look to focus on what is most important. I feel prepared and protected as best I can with our new and current situation.
I have a child living out of the USA that I have to trust that others will help and care like we are doing here at home because I can’t do anything about it. All I can do is pray and hope my prayers are answered through someone else’s willingness to listen.

May we take time to focus on our families and realize how thankful we are for the safety of our homes and eachother.
I love the talk “Come What May, and Love It” by Joseph B. Wirthlin because it made me smile in the newness of my betrayal and discovery and it makes me laugh even now. I choose to be happy and to laugh even when I have to create it in the chaos. I learned how to do that already and it is so healing releasing all the endorphins that promote my sense of well being and temporarily relieve pain.
I pray we all can stay healthy, optimistic and safe. They say that laughter is the best medicine and the good news is…it’s free to anyone and available at any given time!
