The Art of Second Chances
My friend gave me this gift “The Art of Second Chances” and I had to share its meaning because I love how it applies to all of us.
“Kintsugi is the Japanese are of putting broken pottery back together with gold- built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new, the 400 year old technique actually highlights the “scars” as a part of the design. Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes the process of repairing things that have broken, we actually create something more unique, beautiful and resilient.”
I have seen hurt in family and friends because of life’s journey. Some are results of others choices and some are because that’s the way God creates it. Both are difficult, but by healing through Him we become better versions of ourselves. Be proud to highlight your scars!
