Feeling SO Deceived

It is SO devastating when you realize you’ve been making decisions and living your life based on what someone told you, only to discover the truth was different all along.
Suddenly, the life you thought you had feels unfamiliar. You’re replaying timelines, questioning conversations, and trying to make sense of a reality you never asked for. It’s exhausting.
Your emotions swing between heartbreak, anger, numbness, and simply trying to function. You question the person you married, but you also question yourself. Why didn’t I know? Why did I believe them when something inside me felt differently?
And one of the loneliest parts? Feeling like you have to protect the very person who hurt you. Their secrets become yours to carry, and you put on a brave face while privately trying to pick up the pieces.
I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but I am SO sorry. I know how excruciating it is to look at someone you love and want to trust them, but no longer feel safe doing so.
Please give yourself permission to set boundaries, seek support, and take your time. Forgiveness is a process. You do not have to rush it to make anyone else comfortable.
You did not deserve to be deceived. Their choices are not your fault. And you do not have to pretend that what happened is okay.
You are not alone. I have been there, too.
Huge hugs. ![]()
