I love butterflies because of all they represent to me in my healing process. In fact, my logo for Marni Bown, CLC is a blue mosaic butterfly that represents the shattered world of betrayal trauma and mending all the wounds.

So, this shirt with the “Brain, Heart, World” with butterflies is perfect!!

I remember the first time I saw “Brain, Heart, World” and the research of Tinbergen and Magnus on tracking butterflies back in the 1950’s.

After finding which marks on the female butterfly wings were the most attractive to the males, they created their own exaggerated butterflies with brighter, bigger and flashier wings. And guess what? All the males fell for it because the fake butterflies were much better than what they found in plain sight around nature.

The males went straight for the cardboard mock-ups and tried to mate with them while ignoring the real female butterflies.

I know that his porn use and cover ups effected the emotional, spiritual, physical and sexual parts of my marriage drastically. It is true that “porn kills love and so does shame.” His addiction to porn led to a sex addiction and acting out. He said he never intended for it to get to that and he believed he was only hurting himself. But I now know how porn takes a heavy toll on real-life relationships. After the truth came out and because he didn’t want to change, I knew I couldn’t stay married knowing both of his lives anymore and I had to let him go.

I am so thankful for Fight The New Drug and their efforts to educate us on a growing epidemic that effects every single person of all ages.
